Best Floor Cleaner For Your Hardwood, Tile, and Vinyl Floors

A good hard floor cleaner helps make keeping your wood, tile, stone or vinyl floors shiny easier than ever. Our testers rate these products based on how well they remove dirt and stains, how easy they are to use and if they leave streaks or odors.

This ozone free cleaner provides you with natural plant based cleaner to clean your hard surfaces and fabric floors with ease, such as carpet, You can remove the set-in and new stains, phosphates free not harm kids, pets, you and our environment.

1. Bissell Multi-Surface Cleaner

This Bissell 1878 hard floor deep-cleaning multi-surface cleaner has a specific powerhead that vacuums, mops and washes hard floors all at once. It also features a dual-tank that separates clean and dirty water for easy separation; the digital touch controls make it easy to switch from one operation to another.

This robot mops the floor by using a brushroll that agitates the dirt and then it dissolves tough sticky messes to give your floors virtually streak-free cleaning results with a cleaning solution powered by Fresh Spring Breeze aroma, a plant-based fresh scent – all while Earth-friendly ingredients such as easy to recycle materials and without heavy metals or phosphates!

The Bissell machine works very well on hard floor surfaces, but it is not suited for plush carpeting, and a tendency to get its vacuum head caught under tables and chairs tends to keep it between the furniture. It would generally be considered unwieldy, but with a 25 foot cord, just about anywhere in your home will be at your fingertips!

2. Bona Floor Cleaner

Bona Floor Cleaner cleans your hardwood floors in a natural way, as well as safely and without chemicals harmful to your family. Water, also known as H20, is the key ingredient in Bona. Such simple. Such brilliant. It’s only natural, a wonder of nature, so what’s the point of using other chemicals? But look who we have here – three co-solvents (PPG-2 methyl ether, Butoxypropanol and Ethoxylated alcohol) ensuring that the cooking spills you make are lifted rather than just spread out.

It’s also EPA Safer Choice-certified and VOC-free, so it won’t create a rogue Brita filter odour in your home the way vinegar or essential oil-based products might (if you’ve used them, you know what I mean. It smells like the salad dressing factory exploded).

Bona’s original floor cleaner can be purchased in white bottles at large box stores and Amazon, while their professional series can only be bought at speciality flooring retailers, like Mouery’s Flooring in Springfield MO – and both the original and professional series versions of their product. All three versions are offered by Mouery’s Flooring in Springfield, along with their microfiber pads, which boast faster and more efficient cleaning processes than their competing products.

3. Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner

Ideal for most hard-surface floors including sealed wood, laminate, vinyl and tile, Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner comes pre-mixed right in the bottle in instant ready-to-use mopping-work formula. This means that you don’t need to mix or dilute the solution. Each 32-ounce bottle covers an area of 625 square feet! Homeowners generally face two main concerns when cleaning their hard-floor surfaces: cleaning and removing stains and odours while avoiding excessive moisture retention and possible damage to wooden flooring. This two-in-one cleaning and protecting product guarantees excellent results. Straight out of the box, Rejuvenate All Floors Cleaner is versatile enough to be used either as a concentrate solution applied onto the pad, or as a spray on the Rejuvenate Click n Clean mop using its bottle adapter (sold separately).

Bob Vila named it his ‘Editor’s Choice’ for ‘best wood cleaner’; The Spruce praised it for being ‘gentle and pH-balanced’ but not rinse-free, and having ‘wide applicability’; and Business Insider gave it a shout-out for ‘impressive disinfectant power without needing water’ and for having ‘one of the highest amounts of active disinfectant of the best cleaners we tested’.

Rejuvenate’s floor restorer fills in minor scratches and also seals up your floors like a protective jacket to guard them against future scuffs and stains. It has a low VOC formula and no dyes or perfume, so once all’s dry, you should be able to walk on it without a care; just make sure to sweep or vacuum the floor first to get rid of dust and debris before pouring a quarter size of the restorer onto a microfibre cloth or mop applicator bonnet (avoid string, cotton or sponge mops!).

4. Dyson Multi-Floor Cleaner

Excellent on hard floor and carpet surface and good on stairs. On our transition tests, it was one of the most intuitive and easiest cleaners to move based around furniture and did not stop for a moment as it traversed between carpets and hard floor, non the less the Dyson struggled more than most of the test models when it came to sucking up pet hair up the stairs. And unlike the Hoover and Gtech leaned in this direction- the Bosch was a noisy animal.

For low and medium pile carpet it was excellent; it came close behind a leader in our high pile test. It picked up rice, kitty litter and cereal from carpet fibres and came about as close as another top performer in picking up sugar from carpet fibres. Sugar was a closer competitor, sticking more stubbornly to high-pile carpet fibres. But so many of the extras of sugar that did fall onto the carpet were picked up that we hesitate to count this one out.

Its round, easy-to-steer head comes with a stair tool and combination brush to further improve usability, and a 9-foot reach allows it to work in tricky above-floor spaces.
